FAQ's
There is not set cost for a custom pendant. But in general, they start at $350 for something in silver up to an inch wide or tall and go up from there. Gold and platinum are more price dependent upon the weight that silver is. So there is not a starting cost for those metals.
We use a Computer Aided Design program and lost wax casting to create our custom jewelry.
Unfortunately, not really. We do not do any design work until a deposit has been paid, which is half of the cost. The remainder is due upon completion. This is pretty much standard operating procedure for custom jewelers. If we showed every potential customer a CAD of their pendant, we would never sleep and do thousands of hours in unpaid work in a year. You will have to approve the design before we cast it, so you will get the custom pendant that you want. However, there are times when we will have to roughly create it to figure out the price. If that is the case, we would be able to show that to you before paying the deposit.
We warranty all of our custom jewelry against defects forever. But we would never send out a defective piece, so that offer is moot. However, if something is not as it should be, we will fix it. As far as stones falling out, we offer a 6 month warranty on stones under 3mm for normal wear and tear. If they are larger than that and fell out, they had help and would not be covered.
All diamonds sold in the US have to adhere to the Kimberley Process. This consortium of diamond producing countries "unites governments, industry, and civil society to eradicate the global trade of conflict diamonds. By enforcing rigorous certification protocols and compliance assessments, the KP ensures that all participating countries maintain high standards that keep conflict diamonds out of the international market." Unfortunately, the blood diamond thing is mostly a bogeyman thing these days. There is no real need to worry about them anymore. We have never seen a blood diamond.
The short answer is no. The bail on custom pendants has to be large enough and for the correct style to fit. We can make a bail to fit any size or style of chain. However, if a bail is made to fit a flat chain up to 2mm wide, anything larger than that won't work. Nor will something like a rope chain. When we create a custom pendant, we will make it to fit the size and style of chain you plan to wear the pendant on.
Changes to custom pendants can be made up until the casting process has begun. After that, there would be a charge to make the change, regrow the wax, and recast the piece.
At first, we need a drawing, pic, or concrete idea/description. We will not try to guess what it is that you want. Once we have agreed upon a price, we require half down to begin work on your custom pendant. We use PayPal invoicing, which requires a credit or debit card and not a PayPal account.
