Our Favorite Split Shank Engagement Rings
A split shank engagement ring is created when a band is split into two as it reaches the ring’s center gemstone. This creates two open spaces that elegantly envelope the center stone. You will also find rings with a third band added to create even more movement in the ring and additional open space.
Our custom Split Shank Engagement Rings can give a new twist to the classic solitaire setting. The extra band or bands also provides the chance to add additional gemstone or diamond accents to an engagement ring setting. The majority of our Split Shank Engagement Rings are created with diamonds, however, split shank rings can look great with nearly any type of gemstone available. Rounds are the most common shapes used in these rings, but other shapes can be used if employed tastefully.
2 Tone
This 2 Tone ring is one of our Favorites because it is definitely a conversation starter with the swirling yellow and gold colors surrounding the center stone. It almost looks as if the center stone is floating on the ring. And it has just the right amount of accents. It would have been far too busy if stones were on the yellow gold band.
Triple Band
This Custom Split Shank Cathedral Engagement Ring is loud with sparkle. In this split shank ring, we took the space opened up by the split and added another band of stones in it. And we love how the band twists outward at the top, framing the center stone, almost as if a halo, but not. The sparkle alone put it on our list of Favorite Engagement Rings.
Crossover
Emerald Cuts
This is one of the first rings we ever created for anyone. My customer had a gorgeous 5x7mm Emerald cut Diamond. He didn’t want the halo fad, so we went with a timeless cathedral look and split the shank to the points of the stone.
Bypass
This Split Shank Bypass Ring has an east west set oval center stone that is enveloped in between an elegantly curved split shank. The other side of the ring is a plain shank.
This assymetrical split shank engagement ring is a new twist on the split shank engagement ring with an eternity band that basically has another half of a ring branching off of it. It looks like a tension setting, but there are prongs to hold the center stone. It is a very dramatic effect.
This is one of our most elegant 3 stone engagement rings. It exudes style as the shanks and accents curve around the two larger accents. The milgrain around the accents give an even more stylish look. It also provides even more contrast the unadorned, high polish of the shanks running into the sapphires. The center stone on this one was 5mm. However, it could be made with a 4mm stone or up to 7mm.
This pear engagement ring will definitely catch eyes from across the room with its unique semi halo stone layout. Surrounding the 5x7mm pear shaped stone are 1.5mm diamonds in a semi-halo as well as a split shank.
